Inside the London clinic setting the tone for the future of healthcare

Rebecca McPhillips

Hidden under the basement of an unsuspecting pharmacy in South West London lives Haus of Skin. A revolutionary, luxurious and one of a kind clinic which provides services that can tell you a lot about the future of private healthcare.

Offering a wide range of beauty and IV treatments, the doctors who founded this clinic can show you how you’ll look in twenty years, test you for allergies, and even teach you how to increase your life expectancy based on your genetics.

Though these treatments are totally outside of a student budget for now, I wonder, could they be made more widely available in the next decade?

Dr Hamid founded this clinic with his colleague Dr Taz. Dr Hamid worked as an NHS GP for several years but set his sights higher after becoming frustrated at having to operate within the guidelines.

“There’s so much more we can do, but the NHS doesn’t have enough funding to provide them. Doctors need to operate within those guidelines, and if youre a Doctor who trials something that goes wrong, it falls on your head. It could end your career.

“But if we implement the work of several professors and experts across the globe, we can increase lifespans, reverse ageing, we can do so much more with our health and lives, we can be fully functional at 85 years old”.

For the last decade Dr Hamid has dedicated his time to meeting with experts and professors at the top of their game in DNA, gut health and more to put together treatments to offer clients.

Though he’s working with high net worth clients at the moment, he hopes that the longevity work he is practicing now will become more mainstream in the future.

“If you can make it in London you can make it in any city. If you can prove yourself here, people will hear you”.

“A lot of these treatments work because they have a strong base of diagnostics. That includes intolerance testing, infection markers, genetic testing from fertility. We can measure your biological age and get better informed on how you can reverse that. Once we figure out what you’re predisposed to, we can create a program and test you annually to measure its effectiveness”.

“I treated a client who was 42 years of age, and after three years of longevity treatment protocols their biological age measured at 33".

“This protocol for reversing age was made by researchers in USA and we have the exclusive rights to offer this in UK and Pan Europe, but is the worlds only and first treatment of this type.”

"It was used and developed by Professor Horvath, which has reversed gray hairs, biological age by 4/5/6 years extra. The idea is that you initially pay for this expensive treatment but then you can carry it on at home”.

The clinic is also looking into working with physiotherapists and creating private GP family packages, so families will have a Dr they come to know over the course of twenty or so years.

Dr Hamid believes there is a lot to be said for continuity of care.

In a venture to test their more aesthetic packages, I was offered a unique skin treatment to test the age of my face.
