Sabrina Carpenter kicked off her sold-out Short N' Sweet Tour this September, and the Internet has been loving it- from her sparkly outfits to her playful sense of humour.
A highlight of the show for many fans is the costume changes- Sabrina is known for her hyper-feminine style, incorporating lace, hearts, glitter and lingerie styles into many of her outfits. On the tour she has been wearing different colours every night, using her signature pastel colour palette. She wears custom Victoria's Secret- a very fitting brand for her girly, sexy style.
On her previous tour, Sabrina created the tradition of a city-specific comedy outro to her hit ‘Nonsense’. Although she hasn't continued this for her new tour, she has created a new tradition- the ‘Juno’ position. At each show she performs a different sex position during the song, and in the interlude before she gives one lucky fan a pair of pink handcuffs as mentioned in the first verse.
At her show in Atlanta, the chosen audience member was Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown. Sabrina joked to the audience: “I've never fallen in love at a concert before, but stranger things have happened!”
The concert's set is designed like a home, complete with a 70s style conversation pit, fireplace and bed, making fans feel like they're at a slumber party. The show continues this theme with Sabrina playing a game of spin the bottle to choose the surprise cover song. Her covers so far include karaoke classics like Madonna's ‘Material Girl’ and Abba's ‘Mamma Mia’, giving the event a real ‘girls night in’ feel.
Sabrina plays her Short N' Sweet album in full, as well as fan favourites from ‘Emails I Can't Send’ like ‘Feather’ and ‘Because I liked a boy’. The mixture of fun pop numbers like ‘Espresso’ and slower sad songs like ‘Lie To Girls’ makes the whole experience an emotional whirlwind.
The Short N' Sweet Tour comes to the UK in March, with shows in Birmingham, London, Glasgow and Manchester. Were you lucky enough to score tickets?
