It’s no secret that videos of YouTubers filming their day are one of the most popular type of videos on YouTube. StudyTube is no different: giving you inspiration to actually study along and also cram in your all-nighter essay (that you thought you’d never get done).
Have you ever been sitting at your desk at 2am, having written only the title for your essay and wondering if you''ll get anything done? Every time that happened to me – and it happened a lot over the course of my degree! – I found myself on YouTube. The following YouTubers will prove to be amazing online study buddies:
Vee Kativhu
I’ve been following Vee for a big chunk of my time at uni and I can honestly tell you, there’s no one as motivating as her. She’s a goal getter and did her BA at Oxford and is now studying for an MA at Harvard, with her “Empowered by Vee” book on the way. My favourite videos: her slamming out entire essays in one single night. On Instagram, she created a study community under the Hashtag #thegameisthegame, taken from her saying: "The game is the game and we came to play."
Jack Ben Edwards
While he’s not a student per sé anymore, all his study videos from his time as an English Literature student at Durham can still be found. He has one of the most useful study tricks up his sleeve that I’ve come across: the research table he created. I’ve done the same and saved so much time. It’s a document where you collect all the quotes and information you want to use in your essay as well as the citation information you will need. Although it looks like a massive time commitment, you are actually saving loads of time when writing. Once I started with the research log, I never went back.
Eve Bennett
Another Oxford student, Eve is incredibly hard-working and motivated. She studies Spanish and German, but is currently on her year abroad in Berlin. Her vlogs are honest about mental health, work-life-balance with uni and she gives helpful study advice – what more could you want from StudyTube account! I love watching her videos because she’s really relatable (and because I love to hear bits and bobs in German in the recent videos!).
The only thing left to do now is search these StudyTubers up, watch their videos and smash those uni goals!
