Summer can be a fun time to get experimental with the best textures and colours to
meet your expected aesthetics. According to the top fashion
magazines, the colours trending this year are the likes of green, blue, orange and purple shades. So I love to look at secondhand or charity shops way before summertime to get the essentials before the prices rise and demand increases. I also search online on Vinted and Ebay with keywords.
I prefer to avoid darker shades to prevent overheating in the summer sun. White clothes
can be the best for this, especially materials like lace and linen to keep it light, and
because it suits a lot of other colours!
These simple looks can be found pretty much anywhere and are suitable for those lazy days. Also looking up your holiday destination locations can be helpful for picturing yourself in certain outfit choices.
Make sure to consider comfort too. Denim shorts are always a classic and go with pretty much anything (and look especially cute with baby doll tees). Dresses and skirts are a
must have, even better if the skirts are pleated. I always opt out for a flowy look
especially to avoid an awkward tan line! Patterns can be harder to work with but
floral is the way to go to properly get into the summer vibe, even when British
summers are more bleak.
Primark or New Look is great for these! You do not have overspend to look and feel good. Accessories and details can really jazz up your outfit. This year ribbon has been a popular accessory, which you can find in many arts and craft shops, whether that is to tie in your hair or on bags to feminise outfits, if that is what you prefer!
Other accessories to consider are sandals, especially platform ones for a bit of edge and
the classic sneaker for a sporty feel, which are cheaper in places like TKMaxx. Big
hats are also very classical and make you romanticise the summer (even if you are
not on a getaway in Spain!) which you can find in Flying Tiger.
